Automatic measurement of LED spectrum
Žabka, Jindřich ; Hudcová, Lucie (referee) ; Skryja, Petr (advisor)
Teoretical part of the thesis is introducing light sources. Here are examinated the principles of light generation in these light sources, basic radiometry and photometry variables, according to which are these sources sorted and their operating parameters. The parameters describing quality of light sources are also mentioned here. Next part examinates LEDs, theirs usual construction types and most common SMD LED packages. Part about optical spectroscopy describes usually used components for optical measurement. Practical part narrates appropriate organization of workplace, LabVIEW platform, communication process with instruments and a guide describing measure process. There is a solved laboratory protocol as an attachement.

Measurement of the optical intensity distribution at the far field
Vitásek, Jan ; Němeček, Jiří (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
The topic of this master’s thesis is energy measurement of the optical intensity distribu-tion at the far field. Properties of the optical intensity and the optical power are described. In this thesis solution of wave equation is done. The plane wave, spherical wave and Gaussian beam are described. In this thesis, optical trace of laser beam from transmitter laser diode to receiver PIN photodiode is described. One of the solved problems is diffraction on the lens socket. The basic configuration for diffraction investigation on lens socket was created. There were transmitting laser diode, stop with circular apertures and PIN photodiode used in the experiment. In the other part, thesis deals with measuring and detection of the optical beam. Sorts of photodiodes and their characteristics were analysed.
The use of optical fibers in potentially explosive atmospheres
Mafka, Martin ; Münster, Petr (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The main object of semestral’s thesis was show familiarize with using optical networks in explosive areas. The thesis is divided into several basic thematic areas, in which we describe the divison by environmental threats hazards, types of protections optical systems, types of testing and verification of optical systems and ignition hazard assessment. The last chapter illustrates the method and procedure, which will be used in the practical part.
Optical Fiber Output Power Temperature Sensor Measuring Optimization
Koláčková, Aneta ; Grenar, David (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of measuring optic power on the output of single mode fiber, used like temperature sensor, using birefringent. Thesis describes the basic knowledge about measuring power, standards and function of optical power meters. It also deals with polarization and representation polarization states using the Poincare sphere. In the practical portion is measured optic power on the output of the temperature sensor with a photodiod and after that is verifed by a polarimeter. The aim of this thesis is miniaturization of ending device for measuring intensity of light, that means replacing expensive and large polarimeter by cheap and small photodiod.
Multi-channel polarization optical fiber sensors in wave multiplex technique
Švehlík, Martin ; Grenar, David (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the optical fiber sensor system assembly and its possibilities using 100 GHz wavelength multiplexing (DWDM), when using standard single-mode communication fibers. In the introduction, the necessary theoretical knowledge is discussed. The aim of the work is to design a temperature field violation sensor with remote excitation and detection. The practical part of the thesis contains the design and assembly of the measuring workplace. Also, the results of each measurement are presented, and at the end, they are compared and assessed.
Optical fiber polarization sensor optimalization for detection of fast and small temperature changes in military objects
Sergeev, Roman ; Grenar, David (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of an optical fiber thermal (temperature) sensor suitable for application in a military building. The thermal sensor detects even slight temperature changes based on the change in the polarization state of the light. The thesis describes the basic theory, which serves as a source for understanding the principle of operation of the fiber optic sensor. In the practical part, the basic quantities describing the polarization state of light were measured. The measured values were plotted in graphs to illustrate the dependence. This thesis aims to measure the designed variants of the sensor connection and select the most suitable for temperature measurement.
Laser Diode Controller with Analog Modulation
Král, Vojtěch ; Dobesch, Aleš (referee) ; Barcík, Peter (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis deals with a design of the controller for a laser diode with the possibility of analog modulation. The basic parameters (current, voltage, temperature and optical power) are shown on an alphanumeric LCD display with the driver SPLC780. Core of this project is the laser driver MLD203CHB. Control is realized by buttons, which are setting the value of digital potenciometre, which is connected to the reference. Everything is controlled by the microcontroller ATMGEA328P. Temperature is measured with the analog sensor TMP36. Cooling of the laser diode is implemented by a peltier module controlled by the microcontroller.
Workplace for testing of the laser diodes
Zemánek, Martin ; Tannenberg, Milan (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on laser diodes and proposal in their workplace testing, followed by constructing workplace with program for graphical output with processed values of measurment. Laser diodes paramaters as optical power, symmetry of the laser beam and radiation characteristic are the objective of this thesis. Thesis includes the theory of laser diodes, device list, workplace layout, description of measurment methods, followed by measuring and and processing the values in program with graphical output. Resulting values are compared with catalog data.
Laser beam shaping
Hantl, Josef ; Dvořák, Filip (referee) ; Hudcová, Lucie (advisor)
Thesis describes shortly types of waves and beams. Gaussian beam properties and parameters are described in more details, Gaussian beam is the most used in atmospheric optical links. The main goal of work is studying of possibilities of laser beam shaping, mainly the beam Top hat. In this project reasons why is suitable to shape laser beam for optical communications and the most used methods for shaping of laser beam are described. The suggested processes of beams shaping are experimentally verified and properties of beams shaped of single methods are compared with each other.
